Consultant Position at TBWB Strategies, San Francisco Based Political Consulting Firm 

TBWB Strategies is a state-wide strategy and communications consulting firm specializing in public finance ballot measures to secure much needed funding for schools, cities, parks, open space, libraries, transportation, healthcare and more. 

Job Overview

Consultants serve in a project management role on the client services team at TBWB Strategies, providing strategic guidance, maintaining daily client contact, developing messaging, managing staff and overseeing materials production for multiple projects simultaneously. The Consultant reports to and collaborates with the project’s Partner and delegates/supervises the work of Associates on each project. 

Responsibilities and Duties

In collaboration with client services team, responsibilities and duties include: 

  • Collaborate with Partner to develop, present and implement the overall strategic approach for projects, including written public outreach and communication plans
  • Develop and maintain project timelines or plans
  • Keep the project on track and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Work with Partner to develop key messaging based on poll results, client input and other research
  • Participate in meetings or conference calls with client, client’s designated staff and community stakeholders as needed
  • Attend or present at School Board or City Council meetings as needed
  • Be proactive and responsible for daily client contact related to project logistics and implementation, and to troubleshoot as needed
  • Train and manage Associates and other staff 
  • Finalize copy for all client collateral, including brochures, handouts, presentations, emails, websites or other public communication materials
  • Supervise Associates and work with the TBWB graphic design team to ensure the look and feel of all advertising materials and collateral fits the project’s messaging, client expectations and corporate design standards
  • Ensure all project materials are created, reviewed, presented, approved and archived according to company procedures

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Management experience within a team setting
  • Prior work experience in public sector, non-profit, political campaigns, or comparable place of work preferred
  • Must be willing to travel regularly throughout the Bay Area, Central Valley and Southern California to serve clients
